There is / There are

 

Example:        There is a cap on the bed.

                        There are two T-shirts on the bed.

 

Use there IS for singular nouns (one item).
Use there ARE for many items (plural nouns).  

Affirmative

There is a table in the classroom.

There are some students at school.

 

Negative

There isn’t a table in the classroom.

There aren’t any students at school.

 

Interrogative

Is there a table in the classroom?

Are there any students at school?

 

 

A. Say what there is and what there isn’t in your bedroom.
