There is / There are

This is The Bedroom, a very famous painting by Vincent Van Gogh. There is a bed on the right and there are two chairs; one is next to the bed and the other is next to the door. There is a small table on the left corner of the bedroom and there is a blue basin on it. There are some portraits on the wall and there is a towel next to the door. There are two doors in his bedroom; probably one of them leads to a bathroom. There is a mirror above the small table but there isn't any carpet. There are some clothes hanging behind the bed but there aren't any shoes on the floor. He wrote a letter to his brother Theo where he says  that when you look at the painting, your brain or your imagination should feel rested.
